The FreeForAll Concert Series Kickoff Event featuring Blues Traveler, The Family Stone, Rick Derringer, and Erica Blinn and The Handsome Machine was a huge success, attracting a near-capacity crowd to Columbus Commons for an incredible party that kicked off the Labor Day holiday weekend. The event served as a perfect lead-in to the new football season and a fond sendoff to the summer.
The FreeForAll Concert Series brand was developed by The Remedy on behalf of The Team: Sports, Entertainment, & Media. The Remedy also provided marketing and advertising strategy and implementation, media relations strategy and implementation, media and marketing collateral development, advertising collateral development, business collateral development, website design and production, and overall brand management for FreeForAll.
The show was filled with many memorable moments, from Brutus Buckeye, the mascot of The Ohio State University, joining Rick Derringer onstage for a live performance of Hang on Sloopy from the song’s originator on the eve of the Buckeyes’ new football season to The Family Stone’s show-stopping set that had fans buzzing. The night was capped off by a surprise fireworks show that impressed the crowd and put an exclamation point on the Series’ inaugural event.
“This show gave us more than we could have asked for and set a great tone for the FreeForAll Concert Series as we move forward,” said Dave Whinham, whose company The Team: Sports, Entertainment, & Media developed FreeForAll. “Everyone had a great time and the performances onstage delivered. We can’t wait to continue this momentum and we look forward to building this Concert Series into a marquee entertainment brand in Central Ohio.”
