The Dallas Sidekicks, a great client of The Remedy, made history Sunday night, snapping the longest winning streak in American professional sports history when they defeated the San Diego Sockers 6-5 in overtime.

The Sidekicks victory put an end to the San Diego Sockers’ record-breaking 48-game winning streak which dated back to December 29, 2010.

The Sidekicks never trailed in the game and led throughout much of the contest. It appeared as if the Sidekicks were ready to claim the victory in regulation, as the 4,701 fans in the Allen Event Center were deafening with the Sidekicks ahead 5-4 in the waning seconds of the match. However, San Diego quieted the crowd instantly when Kraig Chiles scored with just six seconds remaining to send the game to overtime.

After staving off a powerplay, the Sidekicks accomplished the improbable when Shawn David beat a San Diego defender to a throw in from Dallas goaltender Sagu and muscled a shot under San Diego goalkeeper Riley Swift to win the game and break the historic winning streak.
